CH Asia Australia Pty Ltd is an Australian company that provides business advisory, consulting and investment connecting opportunities.
Dr. Hong has 30 years of Australian and international experience, with more than 25 years in professional leadership roles covering healthcare, government, not-for-profits and business sectors. Originally from Asia, she moved to Australia and graduated as a dental surgeon, working in government, university and private dentistry practice in 1983. For 14 years, she worked in this capacity and also served as the director of governmental dental service in South Australia and New South Wales. She was instrumental in leading community dental health programs, school dental programs, State and Commonwealth dental programs for disadvantaged groups, migrants, pensioners, the unemployed and the medically compromised hospital patients.
Dr. Hong was recruited to the SME Association from 2011 to 2013, as its inaugural CEO. The SME Association of Australia is a nonprofit group that provides support for small and medium enterprise businesses. The organization offers membership services to start-ups, small and medium sized enterprise business, helping them connect, grow and prosper by providing them with expert business, strategic development advice and a range of valuable member services.
Prior to that, from 2001 to 2011, Dr. Hong was the first CEO of the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine, a 30 year old organisation at that time, responsible for Australia and the New Zealand branches of a multidisciplinary medical imaging membership based organisation. Dr. Hong held the position for 10 years, improving its professionalism, its financial position, membership growth, physical facilities with new training rooms, and culminating in global recognition for the organisation, hosting one of the best world medical ultrasound congresses in Sydney in 2009. Utilising strategic leadership, business acumen and resilience, Dr. Hong overcame the GFC challenges for the world event in Sydney. The event attracted 2400 delegates from 70 countries, with the largest contingent from Asia ever, via the Asia link strategy. This led to a positive financial and remarkable outcome for the association, in a difficult GFC environment, promoting excellence in medical ultrasound globally.
Before her move to a medical career, in 1997, Dr. Hong was headhunted for the CEO role of the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory branches of the Australian Dental Association. Dr. Hong won the role against 149 other candidates and became the first woman CEO of a Australian Dental Association, which was at that time, a 70 year old organisation. Dr. Hong made significant impact in implementing the first HR Hotline service for more than 2500 member dentists, negotiating on the Executive Team an innovative professional indemnity scheme for its member dentists, implementing the first Continuing Professional Centre, and initiated a more member friendly environment for young dentists as well as women dentists of the association, at the same time, tackling a challenging professional set culture at that time.

She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australasian College of Health Service Management and several professional and cultural organisations. Dr. Hong is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and an accomplished company director on private, charitable and not-for-profit boards.
Dr. Hong attributes her success to her ability to have vision, strong professional values, resilience and living by her mantra, "Passionate about being the difference to make a difference." In her free time, she enjoys her family, travel, dancing, music and yoga.
Dr. Hong is also a passionate advocate for charitable causes, and is the ambassador for the Vinnies CEO Sleepout charity event in Sydney. Dr. Hong will be sleeping out "homeless" for the fifth consecutive year for one night on one of the coldest winter nights, with hundreds of other business leaders on 19 June 2014, to collectively raise $7m for homeless services. Dr. Hong also serves as Ambassador for several other organizations, including Business Events Sydney, Migration Alliance of Australia and Australia-China BusinessWeek.
In five years, she will serve on more global boards, be a sought after speaker internationally, expand the China HR Australia business and finish writing her first book. She aspires to be a philanthropist.
