Margaret Rose Poole Honored for Excellence in Health Care

    PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, May 28, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margaret Rose Poole, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and independent contractor, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

Ms. Poole has 16 years of professional experience in nursing, with almost ten years as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) and board certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). Over the years, she has become adept at the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions. She focuses also on health promotion and disease prevention awareness through education, advocacy and humanitarian services. On a daily basis, her responsibilities include: well patient physical exams, medication management, follow up care, referrals, facilitating patients' admission to hospital, discharge and interdisciplinary care. Ms. Poole ensures the continued high quality of medical treatments and safety measures are in place for long-term care. She is sure to always update family members about patients' progress. In addition to her work as an ARNP, Ms. Poole is an officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. In this capacity, she serves as a clinical nurse during wartime and peacetime missions. She serves also as a preceptor and mentor for junior nurse practitioners.

Looking back, Ms. Poole attributes her success to her caring and honest nature, as well as her perseverance, hard work, solid foundation and her faith and love for God. Ms. Poole was inspired to become a nurse after the death of her husband. She feels that if she were a nurse at the time, she would have been able to recognize warning signs of her husband's condition. After working in banking for 15 years, she began working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a nursing home. While she was working with one of the residents, an elderly lady told her, "you have a heart of gold, you should be a nurse." She considered this to be her calling and went back to school to become a nurse.

Ms. Poole is pursuing a doctoral degree in General Human Services at Capella University. In 2004, she earned a Master of Science degree and in 1998, a Bachelor of Science degree, both in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Florida Nurse Practitioner Network, Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, Reserve Officers Association, National Association of Professional Women, National Alliance on Mental Illness and The American Legion.
