Cheri Dodson Reece Named Professional of the Year in Nursing Education

    ALBANY, GA, May 28, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cheri Dodson Reece, Nursing Faculty at Darton State College, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Nursing Education for the third time. Ms. Reece also received this honor in 2013 and 2010. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor only a small selection of members in each discipline is chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

While maintaining a career in nursing Ms. Reece has been honored with numerous awards and accolades and influenced many lives. She was named an Elite American Nurse in 2013, was chosen to be interviewed by "Pro-Files Magazine," and has been featured in the "Top 101 Industry Experts" book. In such a successful career, Ms. Reece has developed expertise in perinatal care. She currently brings this wealth of knowledge and experience to Darton State College, where she works as a nursing faculty member. Throughout her six years in the position Ms. Reece's hard work and willingness to learn have led her to continued success. She currently teaches the nursing care of women and children course and provides maternity nursing at the clinical facility where the nursing students gain experience.

Prior to joining Darton State College Ms. Reece earned a master's degree in perinatal nursing at Case Western Reserve University in 1987 and a Bachelor of Science in nursing at Cedar Crest College in 1969. Ms. Reece was drawn to nursing through her passion for promoting health and well-being, as well as the inspiration she received from her parents and mentor. She has served on national panels and an adjunct faculty member at Cleveland State University. Throughout a career highlighted by so many achievements, Ms. Reece feels that the most gratifying aspect of her career has been expanding her role as a clinical nurse specialist. Her career achievements have been enriched by working coast- to-coast, which enhanced her exposure to the health care industry, and designing an orientation program from beginning to end. Her ability to think outside the box and her commitment to continuous education have consistently separated Ms. Reece from her peers throughout her life. Looking forward, she seeks to continue the high level of achievement she has experienced thus far in her career, and intends to pursue continued, professional growth.
