NUGEGODA, SRI LANKA, June 05, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anusuiya Sumangala Ainkaran, Deputy Country Director of Operations of Plan International, Sri Lanka, has been recognized for demonstrating dedication and excellence in leadership and strategic human resource, budgeting and finance.
Ms. Ainkaran has nearly 10 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations, spending the last three as deputy country director of operations for Plan International, Sri Lanka. Established more than 75 years ago, Plan International remains one of the largest and longest-running organizations dedicated to children's development in the world. Plan's work to promote child rights and lift millions of children out of poverty is based around 8 core areas, education, health, water and sanitation, protection, economic security, emergency, child participation, sexual health including HIV. Plan International operates in 50 developing countries in locations such as Africa, Asia and the Americas. Last year alone, the organization was successful in assisting nearly 80 million children in more than 90,000 communities within these global locations.
As an expert in areas such as human resources management, employee engagement and strategic budgeting and finance, Ms. Ainkaran develops operational processes for human resources, administration, ICT and Finance aspects within the broader guidelines of Plan and implements these to ensure smooth human resources, administrative, ICT and finance. He/she will directly supervise five persons from admin, ICT, Human resources, administration and Finance while manages the performance of these experienced team with a total member of 40 to 45 persons.
Ms. Ainkaran joined Plan International after functioning in human resources capacities with UN and private sector organizations. She has always fostered a passion for humanitarian efforts, which led her to her current position. Additionally, she maintains extensive knowledge of human resources issues in the UN system and has had the opportunity to become well-versed in Sri Lankan labor laws.
In order to prepare for her extensive career, Ms. Ainkaran earned an MBA with a focus in human resources management from the University of Colombo, as well as a master's degree in applied microbiology from the University of Madras. In recognition of her academic and professional accomplishments, she was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, and also a member of Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka. Looking toward the future, Ms. Ainkaran intends to experience continued professional growth and contribute to other organizations on a global scale.
