Carol L. Collins is Seeking a Band in the Wisconsin Area

    MANITOWOC, WI, June 24, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carol L. Collins, Retired Musician and Teacher, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Branding. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Ms. Collins has 50 years of professional experience as a musician and teacher for Carol's Music Room, a position from which she has since retired. Her areas of teaching expertise include piano, keyboards, organ guitar, voice and music theory. On a daily basis, she was responsible for teaching all of these musical skills to people of all ages.

Ms. Collins is currently retired but is looking to join a band. She plays piano, keyboard, organ, guitar and does vocals. She has played in many local Wisconsin bands such as "Cruisin'", "Lost Survivors", "Chuck Travis and the Do Wa Wa's", "Shades of Dawn", "DCII". "Heartland", "Caution" and "Conspiracy". While Ms. Collins was a keyboardist for the band "Caution," "Caution" was the opening act for the rock star Dr. Hook and his band at the City Center Theater in Green Bay, Wisconsin. "Caution" was also the opening act for the country star Michael Johnson and his band at the same venue. While Ms. Collins was keyboardist for the band "Heartland", "Heartland" was the opening act for the country star Rick Trevino and his band at the Oshkosh Convention Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Ms. Collins taught music to students in first through sixth grade in the Danvers Public Schools in Massachusetts. She also taught music to students in first through eighth grades in the Consolidated Parochial Schools in Mount Calvary, Wisconsin. Additionally, she was a substitute teacher in grades K-12 in the New Holstein School District, the Fond du Lac School District, and the Consolidated Parochial Schools in Mount Calvary, Wisconsin. While studying for her teaching certifications at San Diego State University, Ms. Collins did her student teaching in the Granite Hills School District in El Cajon, California, as well as in the Sweetwater School District in National City, California. She attributes her success to her continuing education and development of her art. She became involved in her profession because after learning to play the guitar as a child and singing in the concert choir in high school she realized that music had tremendous value in enriching life experiences.

Ms. Collins received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, with minors in both business education and social science, from San Diego State University in 1963. She is a member of the Green Bay Federation of Musicians Local 205, the National Association for Music Education, The San Diego State University Alumni Association, the Veteran's Widows/ers International Network, Inc., the Military Officers Association of America, and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.
