New Social Media Platform Lets You Create a Living Legacy for Departed Loved Ones

Infibond changes the way we grieve, mourn, and memorialize our loved ones after their death.

There is no doubt that communicating your grief after a loved one dies is very personal, but our platform makes it possible to express grief, and most importantly, to keep their memories alive.

NEW YORK, NY, June 25, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The internet is changing how we grieve, mourn, and memorialize our loved ones after they have died. While some seek solitude, others seek community, and Infibond.com provides a new way to connect to others and heal at the same time.

"I think we are standing at the forefront of an internet revolution and the ability to remember and immortalize people through communication and creativity," said Simon Shimshon Rubin, Ph.D., Director of the International Center for the Study of Loss, Bereavement and Human Resilience at the University of Haifa, Israel.

A group of Israeli entrepreneurs, along with The International Center for the Study of Loss, Bereavement and Human Resilience has developed a new multi-lingual online platform (www.infibond.com), providing free access for memorializing and networking with others. "Creating an online memorial is a way for friends and family to honor a loved one," said Yoram Krause, founder and CEO of the company. "Through dynamic discussion, contributed poems, photos, and videos, mourners can share their grief and begin to heal."

There is a growing body of scientific evidence that the internet can, indeed, help in the grieving process. "Creating web memorials has a positive impact on the bereaved," wrote Pamela Roberts, Ph.D., Professor of Human Development, California State University, Long Beach, in her paper "From Here Today and Cyberspace Tomorrow: Memorials and Bereavement Support on the Web." The new platform takes it a step further by turning the previously static memorial pages into a dynamic social environment.

"Memorialized profiles can be helpful for those in grief, by enriching their engagement with their memories of the deceased and with others who knew them...not in the sense of helping someone not forget the dead, but in phenomenally enhancing the experiences of remembering the dead," writes Patrick Stokes, a Research Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire and a lecturer at Deakon University, Melbourne, Australia.

"There is no doubt that processing and communicating your grief after a loved one dies is very personal," said Krause, "but our platform makes it possible to express grief, to find support, to engage in conversations, and most importantly, to keep their memories alive."

Infibond is a social platform in which people can freely express their feelings/emotions to friends and family and create healing interactions. Infibond enables users to easily and with no cost create an online meeting place where friends and family can virtually come together, from anywhere in the world to support and comfort each other.
