CHICAGO, IL, June 27, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Olmsted Medical Center (OMC) and Jamestown Regional Medical Center(JRMC) were selected as winners in the 16th annual Web Health Awards(SM) program. This competition -- held twice each year: Winter/Spring and Summer/Fall -- recognizes the nation's best digital health resources.
OMC's employee intranet, OMConnect, received a Silver Award and Jamestown's The Core received a Merit Award for the Intranet category.
"We were delighted to participate in the 2014 Web Health Awards competition, and we're honored to have two entries selected as winners," said Regan Sonnabend, HospitalPortal.net's Director of Sales and Marketing. "Our winning entries were chosen from nearly 500 entries judged by a panel of distinguished experts in digital health media."
Olmsted Medical Center is located in Rochester, MN and celebrates its 65th year of service to southeastern Minnesota in 2014. Olmsted Medical Center is an integrated community healthcare provider that offers more than 20 specialties at 18 locations. This year's Web Health Award represents OMC's 6th consecutive national award for their employee intranet, which continues to be a best-practices model for other healthcare organizations' internal communications efforts. Recently, OMC Portal Administrator and Technical Communications Specialist Angie Jensen showcased OMConnect at Advanced Learning Institute's Strategic Internal Communications conference.
Jamestown Regional Medical Center is located in Jamestown, ND and was founded in 1929. They are a modern, fully-equipped and professionally-staffed, 25-bed critical access facility that serves as the hub for a system of dedicated healthcare providers. JRMC has always kept up with advances in medical technology and, in some cases, has actually pioneered the use of advanced techniques and equipment. This year's Web Health Award represents JRMC's second award for their intranet. Portal administrators and marketing team, Samantha Beckman, manager, and Michelle Kunrath, public relations coordinator, developed JRMC's intranet system, TheCore, in 2012 with desires to update their previous under-utilized intranet system to improve internal communication and develop work efficiencies.
"With the improvements to communication and other areas of JRMC, we are proud to see JRMC's overall employee satisfaction scores have increased 11.62% since 2011," says Beckman.
