Printek LLC will operate as a separate and independent company. The acquisition and resulting strategy will allow both brands to increase their global footprint in the business printer market.
VERONA, VA, July 03, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- DASCOM Americas, a recognized leader in complete business printing solutions and marketer of Tally and Tally DASCOM serial matrix, specialty, and thermal printers today announced it has acquired controlling interest in Printek. Printek is a Benton Harbor, Michigan based manufacturer specializing in mobile and impact printers. Under terms of the acquisition, Printek will continue to operate as a separate and independent company under the legal entity Printek LLC. The acquisition and resulting strategy will allow both brands to increase their global footprint in new and underserved markets.
Ron Acorn, President of DASCOM Americas, said of the acquisition: "Printek has been a trusted name in the business transaction and mobile print market for more than 30 years. Their brand recognition and quality products, most especially in the mobile market, will help us strengthen our presence in this market segment, particularly in geographies outside of North America." He further added, "Printek LLC has a talented group of senior executives with many years of experience in research, development, engineering, and marketing. We expect that by operating the company independently, current Printek customers will see the same level of quality and service they have come to expect from the company."
Julie Payovich, who will continue to serve as President of Printek LLC says this new strategic relationship will not only allow Printek to continue to offer its customers the best in current mobile and impact solutions, but will also allow the company to further invest in additional research and development. She said of the new relationship: "This is certainly a winning combination for our customers. We plan to grow our operations base in Benton Harbor and will continue to operate our engineering, production, customer service, sales, marketing, and administration from our current location." She added the move will also allow the company to more rapidly bring pipeline products to market; "We have three new products that will launch soon. This accelerated launch schedule is a direct result of the investment on the part of DASCOM Americas, and the great relationship between our respective teams."
Payovich, along with Russ Corace, Executive Vice President of Engineering, and Chris Yeager, Director of Marketing will form the core management team for Printek LLC and will be minority stakeholders in the company. Tom Yeager, founder and former CEO of Printek, Inc., will no longer be involved with the organization.
