Edgar's extremist views call for an all out non-human vs human war embodied in a Naturalist Revolution.
WASHINGTON, DC, July 06, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Edgar is an embittered, wise-cracking canary who gets a seven-year glimpse of the human condition via television, household communication, and the newspaper articles that line his cage. His running social commentary on all things anti-human, coupled with his observations of The Baker household, are at the heart of his ranting lunacy in the novel First World Canary. Covering topics related to Human Anthropology and Biology, Sexual Appetites and Over-population, Identity Crises and Narcissism, Devaluation of Life, Intelligence, Violence... and more, Edgar's extremist views call for an all out non-human vs human war embodied in a Naturalist Revolution. Will Edgar have enough guts to join the fight?
Edgar paints a grim picture of humanity through quotes so outlandish, you'd think he was auditioning for The Daily Show. A portion of all proceeds from this novel are to be donated to various charities such as The American Cancer Foundation, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
"It's often the case that a writer's thoughts and opinions will seep their way into their stories, which makes them vulnerable. First World Canary is the epitome of this circumstance. Although some of it is indeed far-fetched, much of it is a reflection of my feelings on the state of the world from the perspective of a non-human. Aside from an autobiography, you can't get more personal than that. I hope people enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it," says the novel's author Wesley Florence.
A lover of sociology and psychology, Wesley Florence is the also the author of numerous essays, research articles, and short stories. His love for sociology often comes out in his work, in addition to the psychological dissection of its main characters. "In writing 'First World Canary', delving into the minds of everyone in the household was the most fun of all. Personifying animals is something I'd never done before, but I enjoyed it immensely... it opened up a whole new realm of possibilities within the story".
First World Canary is now available exclusively at Amazon.com.
