Kari Hogan Helps Develop and Sustain Programs and Companies

Kari Hogan manages, directs and implements programs for youths and adults in the areas of employment, training, case management and emergency services

    TUCSON, AZ,July 09, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kari Hogan, Executive Director and Chief Administrative Officer of PPEP, Inc., has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in community development and social services.

Ms. Hogan has 28 years of experience as Chief Administrative Officer of PPEP, Inc. On a daily basis, she is responsible for managing, directing and implementing programs for youths and adults in the areas of employment, training, case management and emergency services. Additionally, she works with communities to develop partnerships, through which funding can be secured for the sustainability of programs. She also oversees career development and economic development strategies within high-growth and high-demand occupations while also working with regional and national coalitions on legislative issues surrounding employment and training. Through her work, Ms. Hogan has been responsible for managing funding in excess of $4 million, in addition to monitoring the budget for optimum output and overseeing 15 programs and grants, and 47 staff members in a nine-county area in the state of Arizona.

Ms. Hogan began working for PPEP in July of 1987 and she has held a number of positions throughout the past 21 years of employment with the agency. She has shown the agency and its management that she is able to do what it takes to implement successful programs and put in the time necessary to achieve goals. She has been dedicated to the programs in which she works and has had the opportunity to work with many individuals throughout her career. Through this dedication, she has achieved her goals and continued to work toward the next. She has taken programs that have achieved minimal success and turned them around, taken on new endeavors, and outdistanced expectations. Throughout her career, she has been given opportunities to see success rise from disappointments and rough roads.

Looking back, Ms. Hogan attributes her success to her supervisor of the last 15 years, who has been a mentor and guide; she has given constructive criticism, has consistently been honest, and has let her fail at times in order to help her find her path and direction to success. She became involved in her profession through the encouragement of a friend who suggested she apply for a position with the company. The most gratifying aspects of her career are being able to give people an opportunity to achieve their dreams, and watching adults and youths walk down the aisle in their caps and gowns during their graduation ceremonies, something they thought they could never achieve.

Ms. Hogan received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. In addition, she received a certification from The Grantsmanship Center in 1996, and an additional certification from Pima Community College. She maintains affiliation with the Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs as an executive board member, and with the Rocky Mountain High Coalition as its President. She is also a board member of the Western Alliance of Farmworker Advocates.
