ROCKINGHAM, AUSTRALIA, July 17, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amanda Nissen, Director of Skill Ease Training for Indigenous Support Services, became involved in her directorship role because it was a lifelong passion to help others who were unfortunate or disadvantaged.
With two decades of experience in support services, Ms. Nissen expertly offers her skills in training and client relations. As an registered training organization they provide both Indigenous and non-indigenous services in the areas of vocational and non vocational training, mentoring, consulting and personal development.
"The business intention that drives my ambition is about contributing support that builds sustainable change," Ms. Nissen says. "I want to share with others how we can create whatever we want, no matter what background or adversity we have in our lives. Through belief, determination, focus and passion we can achieve anything. My delight is to watch communities and individuals blossom and find personal and professional satisfaction. Our students we work alongside soon realize they are not in a normal training environment, there are no barriers, only opportunities. Any concerns soon dissolve, anything is possible."
Her first career was C class nursing providing care for those suffering terminal illness, mental health conditions and frail age. After studying social welfare and managing not for profit organizations in rural and remote locations, a determination to continue to support aboriginal people and their communities became a deep love that has been unstoppable. Engaging in consulting and community research projects cultivated in-depth insights into the needs and challenges rural and remote communities faced which fueled an area of great interest. In the early 1990's working in the outback regions travelling by light aircraft or 4 wheel drive to provide remote services taught Ms. Nissen a lot about poverty, human conditioning, gratitude and privilege. Those early experiences triggered a mission to plant the seeds that could cultivate and foster hope. "Working with people and watching them grow is the most rejuvenating and rewarding experience," she says.
Ms. Nissen attributes her success to her family who has been a strong foundation, along with being driven by a desire to make a difference in peoples' lives through supporting communities, organizations and individuals to overcome obstacles and achieve their aspirations and full potential.
Ms. Nissen is pursuing a postgraduate degree in training and development from Charles Sturt University and she holds qualifications in management, welfare and training and various professional development competencies to work with individuals and communities with complex needs. In the coming years, Ms. Nissen hopes for the continued growth and expansion of the organisation. Her dream would be to work in other countries offering support and services that can make a difference and build a bridge of hope and opportunity.
