Dr. Francis Mendoza Honored for Excellence in Orthopedic Surgery

    NEW YORK, NY, July 18, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Francis Mendoza has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in orthopedic surgery.

With more than three decades of experience in the health care field, Dr. Mendoza has proved to be an expert in the area of orthopedic surgery. At his practice, he provides hands-on treatment, as well as surgery, and also mentors residents and other practicing orthopedic surgeons. Although he offers a wide variety of treatments, Dr. Mendoza dedicates the majority of his focus to shoulder and elbow surgeries.

Interestingly, Dr. Mendoza began his career in a very different field as an aerospace engineer. Still, his interest in medicine inspired him to enroll in medical school and pursue a career in the health care sector. Dr. Mendoza notes that he enjoys caring for patients and helping them improve. He feels that his success is directly related to his love for the field.

Dr. Mendoza completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in 1982, and an orthopedic residency at the same institution during prior years. In addition, he completed a general surgery residency and an internship at Roosevelt Hospital in 1978, and earned an MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1976. He is the Director of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and maintains affiliation with Midtown Surgery Center. For his professional efforts, Dr. Mendoza was recently inducted into The American Registry.
