Stephen Rosser Recognized by Worldwide Branding for Excellence in Corporate Law

Mr. Rosser has 12 years of professional experience, with four years leading senior legal teams within Centrica. Throughout his career, he has established himself as an expert in delivering strategic initiatives, and he has also gained significant experience in leadership and team building, as well as driving efficiency and optimization through innovation. On a daily basis, he is responsible for leading a senior team of specialist lawyers and non-lawyers responsible for consumer affairs, competition and privacy within Centrica, the UK's leading energy company.

Mr. Rosser recently led and concluded Centrica's acquisition of Bord Gais Energy, the largest dual fuel energy supplier in Ireland. It was an exceptionally complex privatization by the Irish State, involving a consortium of three buyers and took almost four years to design and deliver. He trained and practiced at international law firm Eversheds before joining Centrica in 2010. He is currently based in the UK but has lived and worked in Germany, Sweden and Copenhagen.

Looking back, Mr. Rosser attributes his success to his insatiable curiosity, as well as his enthusiasm and clear focus on three of the key attributes of a successful in-house legal team: engagement, empowerment and excellence. He is driven by a desire to help others and make a lasting difference. Joining British Gas in 2010 allowed Mr. Rosser to use his strong legal background to deliver positive change within a company that serves more than 15 million customers across the UK.

Mr. Rosser received a Bachelor of Arts in Law and German with honors. He is a member of the Law Society and a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Additionally, he is a winner of consecutive annual awards within Centrica for exceptional demonstration of leadership behaviors. Over the next five years, he plans to continue building his career, taking on new and bigger challenges and building and leading senior teams.
