I always looked forward to going back to school and am glad to help Saginaw's kids arrive with the supplies they need.
FORT WORTH, TX, July 25, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The average cost of back-to-school shopping for the average family is nearly $670, according to the National Retail Federation, an increase of five percent from 2013. To lighten the burden of this often expensive time of year, Saginaw State Farm agent Linda Allen is giving out free school bags at her office on Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon.
This is the fifth year in a row Allen has offered free school bags, which are also available to teachers and administrators looking to supply bags to students who may need them this fall. Allen's State Farm office is located at 8101 Boat Club Rd., Suite 240.
"Back to school should be a time of fun and excitement, but for some families it's a strain. I absolutely love giving away school bags and seeing local families each year," said Allen, who has given away hundreds of school bags over the past two years.
In addition, Allen and her State Farm team also sponsor a partial college sponsorship for a Boswell High School senior and have also collected supplies for community members in need in the face of local tragedies. The author of "Out with Customer Service & In with People Service," Allen is dedicated to community service.
"I always looked forward to going back to school and am glad to help Saginaw's kids arrive with the supplies they need," Allen added.
