"It starts more with the love theme and sadness parts and goes into the world situation. From there, the world is ending and coming to life again."
LOS ANGELES, CA, July 28, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Josy Svajda, a multi-talented musician extraordinaire from Vienna, Austria, is announcing her debut solo album - "What Lies Ahead" - will release in early August.
Svajda, who sang, performed and toured Europe, the U.S. and Canada with bagpipe-rock band Celtica - Pipes Rock!, will present a unique musical journey on her album complete with ballads, piano, guitar, rhythmic drums, atmospheric orchestral film scores and her powerful vocals inspired by Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Enya.
"It's about love and life," she said. "It starts more with the love theme and sadness parts and goes into the world situation. From there, the world is ending and coming to life again. It's just a story I tell with that album."
An official release date is forthcoming. The album will be available on iTunes, Sound Cloud, CD Baby and www.josysvajda.com. A music video for the album's first single, which is to be determined, is expected to shoot in August and release on YouTube.
"What Lies Ahead" has been in production for more than a year and was recorded in linear order in Vienna studios and a Vienna concert hall. Svajda wrote, composed and arranged the melodies. It will also showcase her own original songwriting, piano and guitar playing.
The album will feature guest appearances from violinist Mariela Arndt (No Such), guitarist Josephine Svajda and drummer Matthias Katzmair (Celtica - Pipes Rock!), who founded the acclaimed drum school, Drum Star, in Vienna.
"It was a great honor to play on Josy's debut album," Arndt said. "Her work is very inspiring. Her songs are beautiful and of high value. She puts so much passion in her music and lyrics. Her overall knowing of writing, composing, singing, piano playing, recording and mixing is something very rare and makes her an outstanding artist."
Showing her outstanding musical aptitude first at 5 years old, Svajda has arrived as an internationally known, respected and sought after singer/musician. She began performing live piano concerts in 1990 and has performed vocals for live concerts since 1998. Svajda performed as a member of Celtica - Pipes Rock! from 2009-2013, a stint that included distinguished shows in Austria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, France, Croatia, Slovenia, Scotland, the U.S. and Canada. She performed vocals and keyboards on the Celtica - Pipes Rock! albums "Rising" (2010) and "Oceans of Fire" (2012).
In 2015, Svajda is set to perform and tour throughout California with Celtic rock band Stand Easy. Stand Easy is led by award-winning bagpiper John McLean Allan, who has played bagpipes in many films and TV shows including the Academy Award-winning "Million Dollar Baby," "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me," "Primary Colors," "The West Wing" and others. McLean has also performed with the Chieftains, Korn, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and The Tonight Show Band. Svajda will also record with Stand Easy on their next album, which is not yet titled, but is eyeing a 2016 release.
Svajda is also slated to perform and tour the U.S. in 2015 with Celtica - Pipes Rock! The tour will include performances at many leading Celtic festivals. Dates and venues will be announced at www.celticarocks.com.
