SANTA ROSA BEACH, FL, August 04, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Airing weekdays at 6:30 am, on Fox 28, the Don Arias "Wakin' Up With Don" show covers lifestyle and entertainment throughout Northwest Florida and features a weekly "30a Lifestyle Story" provided by 30a TV.
"30a Television is excited to work with Don Arias and rebroadcast his popular morning show," said Paul Vizard, 30a Media CEO. "Don is known locally as a talk radio and television host," said Vizard. "But he's also a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and an award-winning military journalist, broadcaster and speechwriter," he said. "We're thrilled to have him on our team."
Arias' first television show, 1st Air Force Now, was broadcast to a world-wide military audience on the military's Warrior Network, winning five Telly awards for broadcast excellence. From drug interdiction in Central America, to the 9-11 recovery effort at Ground Zero, Arias said he told stories his audience cared about.
Now retired and making Northwest Florida his home, Arias created the Wakin' Up morning show brand to reflect local values and give viewers "an alternative to mainstream morning shows coming out of New York." Informing and entertaining viewers with features from the Gulf to the Wiregrass, the show promotes family life, healthy living and a sense of community.
"After all the places and things I've seen on active duty, I'm ready to devote a little more time to making viewers smile with the good life we have here in Northwest Florida," said Arias.
Lt. Col. Arias has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Northwood University, Midland, Mich., and is a graduate of the Defense Information School, Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College and Air War College.
30A TV will also be developing a Don Arias broadcast channel for distribution to media networks such as ROKU, OMNIBOX Networks and "TV anywhere" outlets.
