MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, NORTH DAKOTA, August 12, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Victoria Lemke, Munitions Systems Superintendent for the U.S. Air Force, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in military project management.
For nearly two decades, Ms. Lemke has been working towards the attainment of goals geared toward the furthering of her education and the support of the country that she loves. She is lauded as an expert in leadership, the management of critical projects, and development, and she currently leads and develops a staff consisting of 205 people across three different sections. Ms. Lemke is also responsible for managing munitions maintenance, supply and accountability for the United States Air Force, and monitoring safety and compliance controls in an international environment.
Upon reflecting on a rewarding career, Ms. Lemke attributes her success to the people she works with, her strong work ethic, which was learned from her father, and her drive and desire to learn. She became involved in her profession because of a natural progression of events. She originally entered the Air Force to further her education. After entering the military however, her expectations were exceeded and she found it to be a great fit. Her tour in the Republic of South Korea was the highlight of her career. It was a quite an experience to manage and lead an amazing group of people, both U.S. Air Force and South Korean Nationals, during a highly demanding operations tempo and very high threat conditions.
Ms. Lemke received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Maryland after earning an Associate Degree in Applied Science from the Community College of the Air Force. She also holds a Professional Managers Certificate, and is a D-SAACP Level 1 Sexual Assault Advocate. She is a member of the National Women Veterans Association of America, the Air Force Sergeants Association, and the University of Maryland Alumni. Last year, she was named a Munitions Manager of the Year by the United States Air Forces in Europe, and she has also been appointed as the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year by 8FW Kunsan AB in Korea. Moreover, Ms. Lemke was selected as a Women's Science, Technology, and Math Role Model by the Air Education and Training Command, and she was the recipient of the prestigious General Leo Marquez Award, as granted by the Air Education and Training Command. Ms. Lemke is a Victim Advocate for the Department of Defense Sexual Assault Prevention Response Program, as well. In looking forward to a bright future, Ms. Lemke hopes to progress in rank and position; she hopes to also have completed her master's degree in international relations.
