GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN, August 25, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Henrik Olof Johansson, Bachelor of Marine Engineering for LMIS, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in technical management.
Mr. Johansson has made a name for himself as an expert in technical and people management, and in independent surveying over the course of a career that spans nearly a decade. In his current capacity, he is responsible for promoting the website for LMIS, a consultancy that specializes in marine engineering, consulting and studying.
Mr. Johansson started working on container vessels during school holidays at the age of 12. His goal was to be the best repairman, ever; he was like a sponge for practical hands-on knowledge for the years that followed. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in marine engineering in 1998, sailed one month as a second engineer in the North Sea, and then had to join compulsory military services in Sweden. He was given the position as platoon commander on a mine layer vessel, and was released the year after with top grades. He spent another two years as second engineer, working mainly for the Swedish Orient Line and Atlantic Container Line, until he was promoted to first engineer on a new build in China. He was 25 years old and spent two months on the ship yard, where he brought a half-finished vessel out with only one major shut down for the month that followed. At the age of 29, he was offered a job as technical superintendent, a position that he held for six years. He was offered the job after having carried out an independent inspection and fault tracing of bunkers and engine problems on a cargo vessel en route to West Africa and Europe. He carried out this job through his own business, which was mainly directed towards shore-based emergency generator plants; he had a lot of jobs with the Swedish Emergency Management Authority. During his last three years as superintendent, he was promoted to general manager and ISM-designated person. Thereafter, he spent two and half years in the oil and gas industry, working offshore. For him, this was a natural step toward learning more about a consistently growing industry, and of course, to make astronomical amounts of money. However, money is not everything and he has been running a business with a focus on consultancy services in the maritime sector and emergency power plants since spring of 2014.
Mr. Johansson attributes his success to always being hungry for knowledge and wanting to learn more. His morale is very high. He does not want to hand over something that he is not completely satisfied with. He became involved in his profession at the age of 12 with his father. He traveled with him on container vessels, which prompted him to join the business in 1988. He went to college at the age of 15 and has progressed from then.
