We are so very happy that the Gourmet girls are back once again to support C4C 2014. Their help last year made the ride possible.
NICE, FRANCE, August 27, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gourmet Deliveries, a leading international yacht supplier, is supporting a charity bike ride Cogs for Cancer for the second year in a row to help raise money for Cancer Research. Held from 4 to 10 October 2014, the bike ride would go from Ancona in Italy to Antibes in France. With over 18,000 metres of vertical ascent in six days, Cogs for Cancer ride is not for the faint hearted.
Cogs for Cancer is a self-funded charity cycle ride, which is organized to raise money for cancer charities in the UK and France. Funds raised online will be donated to Cancer Research UK, whereas money raised in France will go to two local charities - ISIS and Lenval children's cancer unit hospital in Nice. The international team of riders, comprising cyclists from Guernsey, England and France, come from various areas of the yachting industry. Cyclists have individual sponsors, ranging from leading yacht brokerages, such as Y.CO, to HSH Prince Albert II. Gourmet Deliveries will once again be supporting the cyclists every step of the way to make sure that they have a full and healthy diet.
"We support the riders all the way through: we book their hotels, take care of their diet and even cook for them. We look after the cyclists to make it easier for them," says Gabi Gruber, co-founder of Gourmet Deliveries.
Last year, yacht provisioning experts, Gabi, Helen and Angelique, provided en route support for the Cogs 4 Cancer riders in one of their refrigerated vehicles, keeping them well fed and hydrated. Yesteryear's success of this charity event lead to even more cyclists joining the cause this year: now 16 cyclists, two of whom are females, will be completing this complicated track.
"We are so very happy that the Gourmet girls are back once again to support C4C 2014. Their help last year made the ride possible - after several hours in the saddle it was an absolute joy to turn a corner and see a lunch table set up complete with table cloth and flowers - they say an army marches on its stomach, a peloton needs fuel (and lots of it) to make it to the end of each day (where there always seemed to be a nice chilled bottle of Magners waiting)," says Ben Young, Managing Director at SYM Superyacht Management.
