Prolific Ukrainian Dancer Will Bring 'Ballroom, Contemporary, Modern and Jazz' Style to U.S. Competition Series

    LOS ANGELES, CA, August 28, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Oleksiy "Alex" Ryazanov, one of the Ukraine's most outstanding and versatile dancers, has been selected dancer/choreographer by Sway Ballroom Dance, a leading dance studio based in Laguna Hills, Calif., for a series of distinguished competitions, showcases and performances.

Ryazanov's first event with Sway Ballroom Dance will be the Orange County Dancesport Challenge October 10-12 at the Irvine Marriott. The event features pre-teen through adult dancers and studios competing in categories including rhythm, standard, international, smooth, Latin, American and ballroom.

"I am excited to share my knowledge and specific skills from the Ukraine and to show what I can do in the entertainment industry in the U.S.," said Ryazanov, who was twice named a Top 50 best dancer among thousands of the Ukraine's best on the show, "Everybody Dance! Ukraine." "What audiences and judges can anticipate is my unique dancing style. I can dance in different styles including ballroom, contemporary, modern and jazz."

After Orange County Dancesport, Ryazanov's fall series with Sway Ballroom Dance continues on to the San Francisco Autumn Dance Classic October 17-19, the Hollywood Dancesport Championships October 30-November 2, the Ohio Star Ball Championships (Columbus) November 18-22, the California Star Ball Championships (Los Angeles) November 28-30 and the Holiday Dance Classic Championships (Las Vegas) December 10-14.

All the events are sanctioned by the National Dance Council of America (NDCA). Founded in 1948, the NDCA services more than 25,000 dance professionals and sanctions more than 110 competitions nationally.

Ryazanov will compete with Sway Ballroom Dance in NDCA events throughout 2015, as well as inter-studio competitions and studio showcases held at Sway's studio in Laguna Hills.

The owner of his own dance studio - "We'art" - in Poltava, Ukraine, Ryazanov has earned international renown for his dancing achievements in top productions and events throughout Europe. He has danced in leading roles on the Cunard Royal Cruise Line (Southampton, England), in the "Paparazi" music video by Ukrainian singer, Erika, in the "Vozdukh" music video by Ukrainian singer Monatik and for the multi award-winning dance group, Gratsia (Poltava, Ukraine). Ryazanov's dancing was showcased at the 2007 Eurovision Dance Contest, one of Europe's top competitions, and at the Harbin International Ice & Snow Sculpture Festival. He danced on the hit TV shows, "Ukraine's Got Talent" and "X Factor Ukraine," as well as at the Zolotiy Kapelyuh award ceremony (Kiev), at the Myway Dance Awards 2012 - Shut Up And Dance (Kiev), Myway's Dance Center Intensive Danceshot and in the 2012 electronic dance music festival, KaZantip (Crimea).

Ryazanov's other critical dancing roles include for the Battle of Poltava 300 Years Celebration and the 2010 International Competition sanctioned by Vivat Art, a leading non-profit organization which develops academic and modern art for children and youth, and hosts four annual international competitions.

In competition, Ryazanov finished first in the Contemporary Couple category at the 2010 Art Premium Festival (Kiev) and second in the Contemporary Couple category at the 2010 Belij Aist Festival (Dnepropetrovsk). His other first-place finishes came at the 2008 Odessa Open Cup International Dance Sport Competition, the 2008 Parad Nadiy Ukraine Championship (Kiev), the 2007 International Dance Union's World Championship (Mannheim), the 2007 All Ukraine Championship (Yalta), the 2005 Parad Nadiy Championship (Kiev), the 2005 Odessa Open Cup and the 2003 Astra competition (Dnepropetrovsk).
