The mission of her not for profit (501.c.3) company, Transitional Assistance, Inc., is to provide programs for veterans transitioning from service members to civilians, including life skills training for all veterans, especially those in imminent danger of becoming homeless regardless of gender. The company provides veterans with safe and effective transitional assistance including counseling, service animals, advocacy and training on a multitude of skills to empower individuals to become and remain self-sufficient. These opportunities include partnering with other organizations and businesses that recognize the advantages of hiring employees with military experience and values. She became involved in this profession because of her own experiences transitioning back into civilian life. Her experiences ignited a passion within her to use the knowledge she had gained by hard work and education she codified it in her company's mission statement. With her drive and attention to detail, she is able to advocate for her fellow veterans in finding the job matching their skills and passion as well as assisting them in obtaining the benefits they are entitled to.
The stated vision of the company is to offer an Empowerment Program for Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces providing an assessment and an implementation plan, including instruction and training to enhance capabilities and develop self-sufficient people who are less likely to depend on the government for support and assistance. Since the issues of disabilities, ADA compliance, sexual assault / domestic violence, housing resources, mental health and addiction are all interrelated, it is imperative the needed resources are provided to ensure a successful outcome by promoting individuals' self-sufficiency leading to an improved quality of life. Transitional Assistance, Inc., uses a collaborative approach to empower individuals and groups by linking them to subject matter experts and programs providing each veteran individualized support.
The company's motto is, "You served our country, let Transitional Assistance help you to your next life's journey."

Brother Ira Joseph Dutton had an unforgettable and amazing life's journey. He went from being an Army Officer during the Civil War, overcame his PTSD, a failed marriage and let his faith in God lead him on this incredible new life's journey of human dignity and kindness on an island called Molokai. This is a prime example where tenacity and unquestioning, total faith will take you to the greatest experience of a lifetime. For him, helping countless people afflicted with Hansen's Disease and allowing them to the have human dignity we all take for granted regardless of your heritage. Because of Dutton's selfless duty, in 1908 President Theodore Roosevelt ordered the fleet to change their course and go two days out of their way to sail by the island of Molokai as a special salute to Brother Joseph Dutton, an American Soldier and patriot, who was now devoting his life to the care of men, women and children who were exiled, separated from their families and loved ones, to the island because they had Leprosy. The Diocese is currently on a mission to Canonize Brother Joseph Dutton and needs your help. You don't have to be Catholic to assist. Veterans can help Pope Francis understand and know Dutton's work and his unfailing faith in God can show Veterans they can overcome the atrocities of war and accomplish great things.
