In 1982, Dr. Merola received her medical degree from the Universidad Central Del Este. After graduating medical school, Dr. Merola completed her internship and residency at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. She also completed her fellowship in Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics at Children's Specialized Hospital. In her 27 years of practice, Dr. Merola has been an active member of various associations such as the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) and the Association of American Physicians (AAP). She is board certified in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities as well.
Dr. Merola's primary expertise is in Neurodevelopment Pediatrics, seeing patients from newborns until age 21. She cares for those with all forms of developmental deficits such as autism, learning disorders, ADHD, and of all forms of language deficits. Dr. Merola cares for premature infants post discharge who are at risk for developmental delays. Dr. Merola is affiliated with Children's Specialized Hospital in New Jersey. Dr. Merola takes a holistic approach to her patients and incorporates the needs of the child as well as the family.
