"I work in reality television and I have never seen such twisted and grotesque behavior from the show's producers on any show I've worked on," Escobar states.
LOS ANGELES, CA, September 15, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The NEW exposing, yet controversial documentary, FRANKENFAKE is set to reveal the true events that took place when a reality television contestant, left the show, FACE OFF only to be degraded, humiliated, pushed and chased by executive producers and crew for 4 miles by car and two camera crews.
FRANKENFAKE is a documentary that is being produced by Double Power Studios, Inc and producer and EMMY winning editor, Steven Escobar. It explores the truth about special effects artist, Joe Castro and his participation on the SyFy's reality series, FACE OFF Season 3 and the producer's lies and cover-up which led to this event.
The incident took place on May 5, 2012 but not been revealed until now due to ongoing lawsuits but veteran reality television editor, Steven Escobar now feels the truth should be told. "I work in reality television and I have never seen such twisted and grotesque behavior from the show's producers on any show I've worked on," Escobar states. "It's incredible how these executive producers [of FACE OFF] would go to every extreme of trying to harm someone who suffers with ADHD (Adult Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) while not allowing him to take his medication. But there's no way they would show you that behavior in the finished cut of the show." Escobar also states that, "These casting and executive producers even went as far as manipulating Joe to sign a "name and likeness" agreement in sequester [when reality contestants are cut off from the real world before beginning a reality show] without allowing him to call me and discuss this.
Joe and I already had an existing "name and likeness" agreement, and the producers knew that but refused to send him these contracts in advance in order to have lawyers review them."
FRANKENFAKE will contain actual documents, texts, interviews and re-enactments of the events, which led to Joe's departure from the show and how the network and executive producers of FACE OFF have tried every attempt to keep Joe from speaking out publically (including attempting to file temporary restraining orders) because the executive producers refuse to give him copies of all his signed contracts.
The documentary will also dive into the world of reality television shows and examine how "wanna-be" contestants sign legal contracts without realizing their consequences including defamation and slandering, which was done by these executive producers and several of the other cast members. "Joe has not been able to work in the special effects industry due to the executive producer's actions," states Escobar. "They haven't even picked up the phone to call him and see if he's okay. EVER."
FRANKENFAKE will hold private screenings around the Los Angeles area. Will also be entering film festivals across the US. If you would like to program FRANKENFAKE into your film festival or would like more information please contact escobarindie at gmail dot com.
