Fremont Micro Devices Announces Four FT8870 LED Driver Design Kits

    FREMONT, CA, September 22, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fremont Micro Devices USA Inc. announced four new design kits for the FT8870 LED Driver Family. The design examples reduce the design time for Non- Isolated LED driver applications. The FT8870 is a Buck LED Driver integrated circuit with an on chip 500V Power MOSFET that enables constant current control designs without a secondary sense and feedback circuit. The extremely low start-up and operating current reduces power consumption which improves system reliability. The four reference support LED lighting products including lamps, bulbs, ceiling panel lights and back lighting of flat panel display applications.

"Each design kit includes a functional evaluation board plus the schematic circuit diagram, PCB layout, bill of materials, transformer specification and performance data for LED driver design." said Jim Panfil, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, for Fremont Micro Devices USA. "These tools decrease time to market because the evaluation board is fully functional and debugged. The schematic includes a wiring circuit diagram and electrical specifications," he added.

The LED evaluation module specifications have an Input Voltage Range 176/264V. The input linear regulation rate is _1% and LED output and constant current accuracy _3%.
