DENVER, CO, September 22, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Spectrum Retirement Communities' popular Spectrum Enhanced Living magazine has received a bronze honor from the National Mature Media Awards, which recognize the best marketing, communications, educational materials and programs in the United States for older adults. Denver-based Spectrum is considered a leader and innovator in senior living and provides a full continuum of care at 23 senior living communities in 11 states from New York to Oregon.
The highly acclaimed triannual publication - designed for residents, families and prospective residents - earned the award in the housing division and magazine (publications/editorial) category. Spectrum Enhanced Living is designed in partnership with Denver-based Hungry Eye Strategic Media and is available in print, online and mobile versions. Each edition features educational stories about health, finance and relationships, as well as profiles of residents and programs.
"The magazine is an extension of our mission to provide the highest quality care and service to our residents and their families," said Spectrum Retirement Vice President of Marketing Kathleen MacDonald. "It illustrates our commitment to our residents and their stories, while also being well-designed and beautiful - just like the approach we take at our communities."
To celebrate its 10th anniversary earlier this year, Spectrum published a special Spring/Summer edition of the magazine dedicated to major milestones of its residents, all stories gleaned from the archives. Each snapshot told an exemplary story of a Spectrum resident, such as a couple finding love; the birth of an art studio; a 100-years-young motorcycle mama riding again; Mary Poppins coming to life and delighting residents; and a jug band of residents taking center stage in the local community.
