John E. Grant Named a VIP member of Worldwide Branding

Mr. Grant first worked as a civil engineer specialising in road, drainage and bridge works, and quarry management. In leading a project to automate quarry operations, he came in contact with information technology and ultimately changed direction to pursue a career in the IT industry. Throughout his impressive career, he has held several important roles. From 1980 to 1982, he worked with IBM in sales. He joined the company that later became Data#3 Limited in 1982 ultimately being appointed Managing Director in 1996 and led the company to a public listing on the ASX in 1997.

In addition to his industry expertise, Mr. Grant is the immediate past Chair and a Non-Executive Director of the Australian Information Industry Association, the inaugural Chairman of the Australian Rugby League Commission and a member of AICD. He is also a recipient of the Trevor Pearcey Medal in recognition of his distinguished contribution to the development and growth of the ICT professions, research and industry in Australia.

He attributes his success to his tenacity, hard work, and ability to lead others. Mr. Grant advises young professionals who are entering the workforce to be persistent and to never give up on their dreams.

Mr. Grant received a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Queensland in 1971.
