PERTH, AUSTRALIA, September 26, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A recent study titled 'The Personalization Imperative' commissioned by Forrester Consulting found that although many marketers understand the importance of personalized marketing, many are struggling to implement it, and are looking towards outsourcing to ensure their campaigns meet consumer needs.
The study surveyed both consumers and marketers from a wide range of industries, and found that a staggering 94% classed personalization as either important or very important. Perth-based sales and marketing firm Hype Initiatives, who regularly help clients embrace personalization, were pleased to hear the results of the study and believe that personalizing marketing can improve both customer acquisition and retention.
However, for many businesses implementing a personalized campaign remains slightly out of reach. The study found that 66% of marketers believe that a lack of internal resources is holding them back from creating a personalized approach to marketing. Whilst 65% believe that there are too many barriers stopping them from achieving a single customer view point, a view point which is crucial in creating a personalized approach. Despite these concerns the study revealed that 75% of marketers surveyed were still aiming to increase their investment into personalized marketing over the next year. Hype Initiatives are glad that such a high percentage of both businesses and consumers are recognizing the benefits of personalizing the sales and marketing experience to meet the individual consumer needs. The firm believe that although a number or businesses are citing issues in implementing their ideas, there are things they can do to make the process easier and more effective.
To help businesses improve their personalization capabilities, Hype Initiatives have offered the following top tips for personalizing business strategies and the consumer experience.
1) Set Out Clear Goals
Hype Initiatives believe it's important for businesses to define what it is they want to achieve through personalization. Whether they want to increase their customer retention rate or improve their brand reputation, businesses must set out clear goals and objectives in order to create a realistic business plan.
2) Assess
It's important for businesses to assess the current state of their personalization maturity, in order to work out where they want to go, and more importantly, where they can go in the future.
3) Data
One of the key aspects of personalization is handling consumer data correctly. Consumer data is what helps businesses understand the individual preferences of their consumers and build a clear picture of their needs and values. If this data isn't collected and handled correctly, businesses will struggle to personalize the customer experience. Developing a way of keeping data up to date will allow businesses to provide a highly personal customer experience.
4) Partners
If internal resources aren't available, Hype Initiatives believe it's important for businesses to partner up with outsourced experts who can help them manage their data capabilities and streamline their approaches.
