Attorney Terence M. Chucas was named a Top Attorney in San Diego for 2013 and 2014 by San Diego Magazine.
SAN DIEGO, CA, September 29, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Attorney Terence M. Chucas has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in law.
Mr. Chucas is from Canada. Following his graduation from the University of British Columbia he served in the Royal Canadian Navy attaining the rank of Lieutenant. After being honorably released from the navy he immigrated to the United States. Mr. Chucas earned a JD from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 1976. While in law school he was the Captain of the law school ice hockey team.
Since 1990 Mr. Chucas has focused his practice on juvenile dependency law and family law. He has represented over 1,000 adults and children in juvenile dependency cases. In 1999 he was invited by the Family Court to represent children in high conflict family court proceedings. Between 1999 and 2010 Mr. Chucas represented approximately 200 children in high conflict family law cases. His work in the Family Court earned him the honor of being named Family Law Attorney of the Year in 2005 by the San Diego Daily Transcript. Since 2010 Mr. Chucas' primary focus has been on representing parents and children in juvenile dependency appeals.
He was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and has earned other honors including the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell each year since 2004. He was named a Top Attorney in San Diego for 2013 and 2014 by San Diego Magazine. He was also awarded the AV Preeminent Attorneys Judicial Plaque in 2011.
In the coming years, Mr. Chucas intends to enter retirement following a long and successful career. He is involved with the YMCA and enjoys skiing in Canada and Colorado in his free time.
