Art! Vancouver Partners with Kathy van Gogh & Van Gogh Furniture Paintology

    VANCOUVER, BC, October 02, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Art! Vancouver, one the first international art fair to be held in Vancouver, welcomes globally recognized artist Kathy van Gogh and Van Gogh Furniture Paintology to their team of sponsors and partners.

Kathy van Gogh has been a decorative artist since 2001 and has trained and received mentorship under a variety of modern and traditional Canadian, American, Italian, and French masters of decorative art forms. After nearly 15 years in the industry, van Gogh has become widely recognized for her jaw-dropping transformations of drywall into beautiful marbles, exotic woods, and complex finishes. Her beautiful work can be seen in some of the most prestigious homes and businesses throughout Vancouver.

After many years of success working in the upper-crust niche market of decorative art and finishes, van Gogh has shifted her focus towards making her expertise and knowledge of complex traditional decorative art methods accessible to everyone. Through her company, Van Gogh Furniture Paintology, van Gogh provides supplies, workshops, and lessons to teach individuals and retailers the art of 'Paintology'.

"It was my desire to re-create some of these 'secret' recipes and methods in a new and simpler way," says van Gogh when discussing the motivation behind Van Gogh Furniture Paintology, "my simplified methods and products have made it easy for anyone to obtain spectacular results with the right training."

van Gogh's goal to help elevate the Canadian art scene has also brought her attention to Art! Vancouver, an event that she believes will do just that for the art scene in Vancouver.

"Vancouver is not doing nearly enough to support our arts community and the incredible talent we have here, and what Art! Vancouver is doing is putting Vancouver on the map!" says van Gogh.

van Gogh, along with many others within the Vancouver arts community, believe that Art! Vancouver will provide a needed jolt of energy and excitement for the Vancouver art scene - especially with director Lisa Wolfin at the helm.
