CORAL GABLES, FL, October 02, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Terri L. Meinking, Ph.D., President of Global Health Association of Miami, Inc. (GHAM), has been named a Worldwide Branding Executive of the Year in Clinical Research. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only small selections of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.
With four decades of medical experience, Dr. Meinking is an expert in parasitic diseases and chemistry. She specializes in tropical medicine, entomology, dermatology, radiology, oncology, microbiology, marine biology, nephrology and pesticides. Her duties in her current role of 11 years are studying and researching parasitology and infestations that include head lice, scabies, bed bugs and thrips. She is also conducting clinical trials for FDA approval.
In the future, Dr. Meinking plans to continue on the same path because she enjoys what she does. She says she has been successful because she has had good mentors and opportunities, and never gives up. She became involved in her profession because she formerly served on the faculty of the University of Miami. She also earned an honorary Ph.D. from Cairo Skin Hospital/Dokki Entomological Institute, as well as an additional Ph.D. from an online university, as few schools in South Florida have an entomology and parasitology department. For the university, she did field work in remote areas of Central and South America and other countries, and worked with a mentor who trained Green Beret doctors for their services in Vietnam.
Dr. Meinking also earned a bachelor's degree in parasitology and microbiology from Miami University, Oxford, OH, and studied oncology, radiology and nephrology at Harvard Medical School.
Recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, Dr. Meinking also maintains affiliations with the Federal Trade Commission, the FBI, the World Congress of Dermatology, The Medical Letter, and the CDC. Her hobbies include studying Egyptology, especially the 18th Dynasty of Egypt.
