ESPN'S Kenny Mayne to Host 7th Annual Action Icon Awards, Action Star Stuntwoman Zoe Bell; Paralympic Amy Purdy and Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson to Receive Top Honors; Action Icon to be Revealed

    LOS ANGELES, CA, October 10, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Seventh Annual Action Icon Awards celebrates risk-taking stuntwomen, along with action-oriented actresses and extreme sports stars, who are often the unsung heroines of the film and television industry. During the two-hour private red-carpet awards luncheon on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, these pioneering women and living legends will be recognized in over 12 categories.

Top honorees include Action Star/Stuntwoman Zoe Bell ("Kill Bill," "Inglorious Basterds," "D'Jango Unchained") - Diamond in the RAW award, Paralympic Amy Purdy - The Dare2BDifferent Award, Actor-vist/Humanitarian Award - Shaun Robinson of "Access Hollywood." Legendary, trailblazing stuntwoman Sharon Schaffer will receive the FOUNDER'S AWARD and Cheryl Wheeler Duncan will receive the HELEN GIBSON Award - which pays homage to a veteran stuntwoman with over 30 years of industry experience. Other deserving individuals will also be honored in other categories including JEWEL, GEM, Dynamic Duo and the coveted Stuntwoman of the Year and a Special Achievement Award to the late Danny Weselis - given posthumously.

Hosted by Kenny Mayne of ESPN, celebrity presenters include Phillip Morris, Sam Sarpong, Devika Parikh, Natalie Burn, Ky Furneaux, Adi Shankar, Milaunia Jackson, Tammy Townsend, Kita Williams and Patrick Faucette among others. This year's teen ambassador is former Miss Teen California Brandy Fisher.

The media and celebrities are also invited to learn how to get set on fire, wield weapons, fight and fall from the sky during the Stuntwomen's Coordinating Conference from 8:30 am - 5:30 pm on Friday, October 17 at the Sunset Bronson Studios Lot - Stage 10, 5800 Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA 90028.

Founded in 2007, the Action Icon Awards is lauded as Hollywood's preeminent awards show honoring the many unsung heroines of the motion picture and television industries. In previous years, awards have been given to Donna Evans, Shauna Duggins, Heidi Moneymaker, Boni Yanagisawa, Alicia Vela-Bailey, Dartenea Bryant, Dorenda Moore, Ming Qiu, Lisa Hoyle, and Jennifer Badger. Miller, Esq., in his best selling memoir, "The 16th Minute of Fame."
