CHAPEL HILL, NC, October 11, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Challenge will inspire readers to take God's love out to your community and to be about the Father's work. Its scripture based daily challenges will show readers how easy it is to get started and how even little things can have a huge impact on their lives and the lives of those around them.
Born out of a request to "challenge us" from a local church that asked Brenda to speak at an event about how they might become more involved with ministry/outreach opportunities, the Wards created The Challenge as means to challenge Christians everywhere to reach out into their communities.
The Wards challenge readers to "go. Love. Serve," says Brenda. "Get started; do something... show the love of God and your love for God and your neighbors by your service."
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Brenda always saw herself as a missionary someday in some remote foreign land. But God opened her eyes to the mission field and the needs that existed in her own backyard. In 2007 she and Richard founded The Father's Storehouse in Thomasville NC. With God's blessings and guidance it has grown to a ministry serving thousands of individuals each month with food, clothing, house wares, furniture and other needs. Brenda, as the Director of The Storehouse, spends a large part of her time soliciting donations, raising funds and inspiring others to volunteer. Out of those efforts came the foundation for The Challenge.
Brenda is a 6-year breast cancer survivor. When all of the early medical reports held discouraging news she never lost her faith. And neither would she tolerate anyone around her uttering anything that questioned the power of God to overcome. For her testimony of how the Lord blessed her through these trials, visit her website at www.thefathersstorehouse.com.
Richard is a pharmacist with Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and works in planning and day-to-day management at The Father's Storehouse.
Richard, Brenda and their 10-year old daughter, Hope, live in Thomasville N.C. They also have four grown children and two grandchildren. They love to spend time with their family, especially on the lake, and traveling.
