SACRAMENTO, CA, October 11, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The aim of Flexi.Bility: A Super-Hero in My Brain is to create a child-friendly book which utilizes a super-hero to highlight the powers within our own brains. To introduce more creative options in approach for children who face all degrees of challenges because of the stressors in their lives. The book utilizes a foundation of psychological research and provides practical therapeutic and relationship-based tools to address challenges such as anxiety.
"This book is inspired by my son who has special needs as well as many of my clients whom I have treated over the last decade who have experienced distress and struggle with rigid thinking and a restricted level of coping ability," shares Sanches. "I have found that conveying a more expanded view of approaching difficult stressors accompanied by a genuine care and empathic relationship, can truly bring about positive change."
"I believe both parents and professionals will find the book to be an exciting and useful resource in working with children," says Sanches. "Children will respond to the action-packed storyline and relatable characters. It is my hope that they will take 'Flexi' along with them throughout their day to cope with life's challenges."
"Sharon is not only a loving mother of a son with special needs who is the inspiration of her book, but she has also dedicated the last 12 years to her practice as a child therapist. Her unique and creative methods have given her great success and we are so honored to now take those methods and put them in book form. Her character, FLEXI, will be a great tool to teach people of all ages how to cope with what life throws at us. Whether you are young or old, you will love this beautifully illustrated children's book and be truly changed by it," said Trinity Tate-Edgerton, the acquisitions editor for the book.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
