COLUMBUS, OH, October 18, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The whole of the United States suffered as a result of the global economic downturn, but over the last two years there have been a succession of signs that the worst is over, and growth is returning. One especially important indicator is that new businesses are emerging again in healthy numbers. A recent report in the Dayton Business Journal looks at the latest figures for new business filings in Ohio. Here, Buckeye Promotions Group review the report, and consider the importance of new businesses to the economy as a whole.
"The United States has always been built on enterprise and opportunity," said Kai Petrich, director of Buckeye Promotions Group. "Many people felt a lack of job security as a result of the recession. A growing number of them have decided to start their own business, and put their future success in their own hands. They really are following the American dream, and it's a great sign for the future of Ohio and our nation."
The report centres on an announcement by Secretary of State John Husted. It's been another record breaking month for Ohio as far as new business registrations are concerned. There have been a total of 63,721 new business filings between January and August 2014. This is up from 63,323 in the same period last year. 2013 itself had been a record breaking year for this indicator, as had 2012 before it. If the last third of 2014 follows the same pattern, it should see new business filings breaking through the 90,000 barrier for the year as a whole.
The availability of online business filings have contributed to the growth, by making the process quicker, easier, and more appealing to younger entrepreneurs. This service continues to be refined and expanded, but already more than 15,000 new businesses have filed online since the option was introduced a year ago.
"Ohio is a great place to do business in, and I see and feel the business energy in the air every day", said Kai Petrich. "It's particularly pleasing to see online filing becoming successful. This can lead to an increase in young entrepreneurs, and the creation of businesses in the technology sector. These are essential for the future of our economy. I believe the future's looking brighter than ever for our state, and for the USA."
