NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, October 23, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Helen Keevers-Davelaar, Managing Director of the Hunter New England Central Coast Department of Justiz Community, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Branding. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.
Demonstrating an impressive background that consists of 35 years in the social service industry, it seemed natural for Ms. Keevers-Davelaar to assume the role of managing director of Justiz Community, a social care society that provides services for relationship and strategic development. In her management role, Ms. Keevers-Davelaar ensures delivery of a range of government-funded programs across several locations in New South Wales, and is tasked with overseeing programs that aim to improve the wellbeing of children, young people, families and older Australians, especially those in disadvantaged communities. She pinpoints a highlight of her career as being a key witness to the NSW inquiry into institutional responses to child sexual abuse. Ms. Keevers-Davelaar co-authored "Not Just Another Pommy Bastard - Michael Kenny's Story," which was published last year. It relates the true story of a young British migrant who was sent to Australia. He was lied to and told he was going there for a holiday.
A hands-on manager who is able to embrace pressure and change, Ms. Keever-Davelaar is a hard-working, dedicated and honest professional. In 2008, she was presented with the National Violence Prevention Award. Her achievements have been driven largely by her expertise in social work, human service and stakeholder management. Ms. Keever-Davelaar earned a postgraduate degree in business from Newcastle University and a degree in social studies from Sydney University. She is also a nationally accredited LEADR Mediator. She maintains affiliations with the Australian Association of Social Workers, the Australian Celebrant Association and the LinkedIn Corporation.
