An outgoing individual, Dr. Spears chose a career in medicine so he could interact with others and work on children's illnesses, which are two of his passions. Pursuing this dream, he earned an MD through The University of Texas Health Science Center in 1999 and received his pre-medical training from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Dr. Spears is a member of the American Board of Pediatrics. Recently inducted into Worldwide Registry, he also serves as an active member of the Smithville Noon Lion's Club, chairman of the Smithville ISD Student Health Advisory Council, and as the Smithville ISD Team Physician. Dr. Spears is an avid supporter of First United Methodist Church. He loves watching college football when he's not treating his patients, and his other interests include computers, running and water sports.
