Alan L. Pitcaithley Named Among San Diego's Top Lawyers

In 1970, Mr. Pitcaithley graduated with a BA Degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon. After playing four years of college football for the University of Oregon and later in the CFL, Mr. Pitcaithley intended to become a sports magazine article writer. Instead, when his professional sports career ended, he was persuaded to attend law school, a decision that eventually resulted in the receipt of a JD from Western State University College of Law in San Diego in July 1977.

Mr. Pitcaithley has been an active member of the California State Bar for more than 37 years working the entire time from various offices located in San Diego County, California. He is licensed to practice before all State and Federal Courts, all Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court. During the mid-1980's, for period of four years, Mr. Pitcaithley worked as legal counsel to a major insurance brokerage and claims adjusting firm where he served as insurance defense counsel for several nationwide insurance companies. From this experience, as well as his prior experience in handling vehicle accident and premises liability cases, in 1989 the emphasis in Mr. Pitcaithley's law practice shifted to plaintiff's personal injury and wrongful death litigation.
