HILLSDALE, NY, November 06, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leslie Gabriel isn't all that different from most. He has the same general core values that are instilled in the majority of society. He strives to be the best father, businessman and, in general, the best person he can possibly be. Like many, that includes a strong desire to leave his mark on the world and to help his fellow man in a positive manner.
But here's where Gabriel differs -- he's passionate about making that happen and, even he'll admit, maybe a little crazy about it, too. After all, you have to be in order to put on a blue wetsuit and head out onto the road dressed as a superhero for H2O. But that's exactly what Gabriel is doing. Simply put, he'll stop at nothing when it comes to spreading word about something we all already knew, but seem to have forgotten along the way -- that we need to embrace, respect and relish in the power of water.
SuperWaterMan, the "World's New Superhero for Water," is Gabriel's self-described alter ego which was created to spark public interest in what is the true essence of life -- H2O. In the words of its creator, SuperWaterMan is a "firm believer in the innate power of what he calls the Elixir of Life. The proverbial activist superhero, SuperWaterMan is out for more than simply solving water problems, he is on a quest to have the human family love water and love life with all their heart."
"We need to find a way to change people's relationship with water, and how they think about water. So I thought to myself, 'why not create a superhero?' It sounds a little crazy, but I wanted to do something that was definitely outside the box -- way outside the box," said Gabriel. "What SuperWaterMan is all about is interacting with people. I want to open up the conversation about what can be done thanks to water."
Why is Gabriel so crazy over life's most paramount fluid? Because he truly has experienced its power. For years he suffered from chronic skin rashes, soreness, body aches and other ailments. He searched for an answer to stop these ongoing issues. He found his solution in H2O. By simply using pure water to detox his body and mind, he began feeling better. His rashes disappeared, his aches and pains dissipated. As a result, he knows pure, clean water can help everyone, both mentally and physically, just like it did him.
Spreading that message is now of the utmost importance; a message SuperWaterMan, through comic strips, a web series or in person at numerous events (SuperWaterMan recently took part in the Climate March in New York City) is going to help Gabriel promote. In the assertion of the superhero: "If my brothers and sisters on this planet are not doing well, especially when it comes to access to water, it is my responsibility to see how I can turn things around. If my planet is not doing well because of our blindness to things that matter, maybe I can be a messenger of hope that shines some light on things that work for all of us."
For Gabriel (the hardworking, passionate human being version) the hope is that his alter ego will kick off the conversation and move things in the right direction.
"People need to start thinking about water. I want people to see SuperWaterMan and think wow, who is that? That's pretty cool. But at the same time they're saying that, they're going to think about what he represents and start asking questions about water," said Gabriel. "It's like Santa Claus. When you see Santa in town, you don't just think hey, there's a guy in a red suit. You start to think about all the good things about the holidays."
