LOS ANGELES, CA, November 07, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- World renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. David Alessi, of the Alessi Institute spoke at a breakfast panel discussion on doing business in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), hosted by the Los Angeles Business Journal and Etihad Airways on October 29th at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. Attendees had the opportunity to ask expert panelists questions about the opportunities, risks and misconceptions associated with expanding to UAE.
The seminar featured a panel discussion, moderated by Danny Sebright, President of The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council and featured panel experts, Dr. David Alessi, Plastic Surgeon at the Alessi Institute, Consul General Abdulla Alsaboosi, Talal Al Kaissi, Chief of Staff and Advisor to the Commercial Counselor at the UAE Embassy in Washington, DC, Hamilton Loeb, Partner, Litigation Department at Paul Hastings LLP and David Barwell, Chief Executive for the Middle East AECOM. Dr. Alessi spoke about the strong economic and political ties between the United States and the UAE, as well as his plans for developing his business ventures to the Middle East. In addition to being one of the world's most sought after surgeons, he is also the co-founder of the Face Forward Foundation, a charity that provides pro bono reconstructive facial surgery for victims of severe domestic/gang violence. Dr. Alessi has begun to develop his campaign for expanding both the Alessi Institute and his philanthropic efforts with the Face Forward Foundation to the Middle East, specifically Dubai and Abu Dhabi along with expansion in India.
While Dr. Alessi has patients traveling to see him from across the globe, he has an overwhelming response from the UAE, a nation that has long been recognized as the commercial and business hub for the Middle East and continues to develop rapidly. The healthcare industry, particularly cosmetic surgery, is thriving, due to cultural prohibitions toward cosmetic surgery swiftly dropping. Dr. Alessi recently made the first of many business trips to explore locations and meet with city officials. He hopes to have his practice up and running in the Middle East by November of 2015.

About Face Forward:
Face Forward's mission is to provide physical and emotional reconstruction for women and children who have been victimized by domestic or gang related violence. Since its creation in 2007, Face Forward has worked with advocates around the nation to identify victims of domestic violence who are working towards recovery, yet carry the physical evidence of past abuse. Face Forward does more than just provide pro bono reconstructive surgery to adults and children who have suffered from traumatic and physical abuse; they also create a welcoming and safe environment for the victims to start a new life and reclaim their confidence. They are able to provide these services to individuals who are committed to their recovery by partnering with local community centers, which offer complementary relief: housing, counseling, job searches, and legal assistance. Face Forward is a non-profit organization, a 501(c)(3) registered in the State of California with better than 90% of all donations are directed toward victim treatment and recovery. They are one humble part of the recovery puzzle; however, the immediate results of their healing efforts provide individuals with the confidence to literally put their best Face Forward once again.
Deborah Alessi, Founder of Face Forward Foundation says "The work that we do turns our victims of abuse into victors in life and we have been fortunate to impact many lives with profoundly life changing results. Changing the outward appearance gives them the confidence to address the scars on the inside and move beyond their past to obtain fulfilling futures. " With domestic violence occurring every 15 seconds in the United States, Face Forward Foundation strives to alleviate the internal and external scars of victims and those affected. Ninety percent of all rape and abuse cases lead to physical disfigurement and Face Forward provides treatment to victims who are not able to afford medical assistance.
