Art of Legohn Dance Company Debuts at Choreographer's Carnival

    NEW YORK, NY, November 08, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The NYC division of Art of Legohn Dance Company is set to make it's performance debut at the Fall 2014 Choreographer's Carnival on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 10:30 p.m. at the Highline Ballroom.

Joining the roster of the upcoming NYC edition of what is known as the hottest and most widely known showcase of top choreographers and professional dancers in the music, video, film and commercial television industries, the NYC division of Art of Legohn will take the Choreographer's Carnival stage for the company's first public performance. The Art of Legohn performance will be choreographed by the company's founder, Yaminah Legohn.

In anticipation of the company's NYC debut, she shares, "The piece the company will perform represents the growth in my knowledge of different dance styles and my growth as a choreographer since transitioning from Los Angeles to New York," Legohn adds, "The dancers are all very talented and have been working diligently. I feel excited, ready to showcase the company talent and I'm really looking forward to sharing the stage with the new NYC division of Art of Legohn and seeing them bring this piece of art to life!"

This performance will be Yaminah Legohn's third feature performance in the Choreographer's Carnival since 2006 in the Hollywood and her second choreography feature in the showcase's NYC edition since 2012. Yaminah is known for integrating a fusion of several styles of dance, including West African, Hip-Hop, Dancehall, House, Modern and Samba in her choreography, coined Afro Karibe .

Other acts slated to perform in the showcase include Banjii Twerk Team; Tavia N Tamera feat. Brukwine; Laure Courtellemont; Jermaine Browne; D.R.E.A.M. Ring, Kelly Peters & Generation X feat. GeNeX; DOMO feat. Rhythm City; Neil Shcwartz, Victor Sho; Robert Taylor Jr.; Tracie Stanfield; Static Noyze Dance Co.; Team WeGonMakeIt; Robby Boyer; Excel Garner; Teddy Tedholm; Deshawn Da Prince; Rep Your Style; D'Cor Dance Co. and The Ladies in Lace. The event will be hosted by Carey Ysais along with other special guests. Music will be by DJ Herbert Holler.

About Yaminah Legohn
Yaminah Legohn is a passionate and dedicated choreographer, professional dancer, and performer of West African, dancehall/reggae, hip hop, jazz and modern dance styles. She lives in New York City and holds a degree from San Francisco State University in Speech Communications and Dance, with an emphasis in choreography. Before moving to New York, Legohn worked in Los Angeles as a choreographer and professional dancer, working with artists such as Shakira, N.E.R.D, Tony Toni Tone, Lil Wayne, and B.o.B. and appeared on TV shows.
