RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA, November 09, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- RDI Inc. field technicians will begin to survey utility poles in the districts of Wildomar and Ontario, as Southern California Edison's Pole Loading Program continues. Beginning on November 10 through December 19, field technicians will survey SoCal Edison's utility poles in Wildomar and Ontario to ensure that poles meet public safety standards and are structurally sound enough when considering the weight of equipment, attachments, and power and communications lines.
"Our field technician crews will survey a total of 18,000 utility poles between both cities" said Field Manager, Miguel Manjarrez. "By the end of the year, RDI Inc. field technicians will have surveyed 54,000 of Southern California Edison's utility poles. Our teams are working hard and efficiently to guarantee that SoCal Edison's utility poles are safe and maintaining the publics' best interest" said Manjarrez.
RDI Inc. is one of the two contracted vendors in which are providing the field technicians needed to survey SoCal Edison's utility poles for this contract. "What our field technicians do is analyze and record each of the actual components of the utility poles. They then input all of this data onto a software called ArcPad in order to identify whether all the components of a pole meet safety requirements. This information is then synced and updated to Southern California Edison's database" said Field Supervisor, Carlos Alatorre. Southern California Edison's 7- year Pole Loading Program will survey 1.5 million of their utility poles and replace any dangerous or damaged poles as needed.
