While the fashion and beauty industries are inundated with companies constantly targeting women, it seems that somewhere along the way male consumers have been neglected, if not all together forgotten.
Scott Blaine Hoffman, founder of Luxury Barber, didn't make the same mistake.
Earlier this year he founded the online boutique which offers a variety of men's grooming products, as a division of Web Ventures Group; a larger company that has been operating for the past seven years.
"Currently women have more options because that demand has been around for a long time," said Hoffman. "But that's quickly changing as men are becoming more self-aware and starting to demand more variety and better products."
The 43-year-old businessman began his career in internet development but recently transitioned into the product development and distribution field. He noticed a major increase in the demand for high quality men's products over the past few years, and realized that there was a supply void and rushed to fill it.
"Men are starting to really dedicate a lot of time and effort into how they look and feel," said Hoffman. "Luxury Barber was created to serve as a one-stop shop for men to find the products that they want and need."
Hoffman wanted to take Luxury Barber one step further and recently kick started a $30-a-month subscription box program for clients.
By subscribing to the Luxury Barber Box, men can get their hands on a sampling of 9 different products which can include shaving creams, after shaves, anti-aging products, hair styling pomades and hair loss shampoos. In addition to the samples, every box will also feature 1 full size product.
"My boyfriend has a subscription to the box. He likes being able to try different products by picking and choosing between items," said Hannah Greenwood, 22, social media expert and public relations specialist at Luxury Barber. "He especially likes the shaving products, but overall I think that the box is for any man that enjoys taking care of his appearance and is interested in grooming."
The items sent out to Luxury Barber's subscribers are carefully curated by Hoffman and his staff and customer service is handled in house.
"Our customers are the priority and we strive to provide them with nothing but the best," he said.
"With the overwhelming amount of products saturating the market, it's impossible to find what's right for you and that's why we created the box; to allow men the opportunity to discover and test high quality products from the best brands from around the world."

"Allowing the customer to try before they buy is very important," said Hoffman. "Traditional marketing is dead and sampling is the new way to market products in this type of industry."
For Hoffman, engaging with consumers is also of upmost importance. Luxury Barber's staff regularly checks for feedback from customers on social media sites and forums. Hoffman notes that he is open to suggestions from customers and hopes to continue improving the products and services of his company.
Despite the fact that Luxury Barber's subscription box program is still in its infancy, its founder projects that by the end of the second month of the initiative, it will garner more than 500 subscribers.
"We want to bridge high end men's products with our customers," added Hoffman. "We want to create an environment for men to experiment, learn and discuss grooming as a whole and not just products but everything from grooming techniques to sharing their collections."
On the company website men can do just that by following the blogs and signing up for the Luxury Barber Community Forum. Every week, the Luxury Barber team is dedicated to filling their blog with an array of useful material to help educate men on a variety of grooming related topics. Whether they are seeking skincare advice or tips on traditional wet shaving, both the forum and the blog provide men with the resources to learn, share and interact with other members of the grooming community.

Guests will be able to pick from an assortment of samples and purchase a box on site.
