NEW YORK, NY, November 16, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Aurora Gallery has teamed up with Asteria Indie Collective, a collection of local artists creating experiences that are affordable and accessible to all ages in the community, to host the first Asteria Indie Market. The event will take place Sunday, December 7th from 12pm to 6pm at The Aurora Gallery. The Asteria Indie Market will feature a dozen local artisans selling their wares, 8 visual artists showcasing original art and, 6 short dance performances throughout the day. This event is free, kid-friendly and open to the public.
"By showcasing our individual items for sale, hosting an all-day show of mini-workshops & dance performances for children & adults, we intend to make this a wholesome event," said Debbie Lakis Cartoas, founding member of Asteria Indie Collective. "One you can enjoy with your children, get some shopping done and take in the local art scene."
Asteria Indie Market is an opportunity to purchase from a variety of local vendors such alchemist jewelry maker Luni Jewelry, Twee & Honey a specialty nail lacquer line and D Webb Designs a lifestyle brand clothing line. While shopping, guests will be treated to short dance performances throughout the event organized by key sponsor Sol Dance Center. The Gallery walls will feature the original works of 8 local artists including painter Robert Scott, photographer Mariana Martinis and graffiti artist Seth Body.
The event will incorporate several raffles with proceeds going to Re-Connect Cafe.
