Richard received an official LAMA Trophy for Best Script for "Can Richard Come Out And Play." His story is about a New York City boy raised by a Jewish gangster. The semi-autobiographical story follows Richard from childhood to present day. At the height of the Vietnam War he is recruited by the State Department as a covert operative. As a family man and network television production executive he travels the world and unbeknown to his family, friends, employers and coworkers he continues his covert activities.

Richard Knapp:
Richard Knapp has been in the television/broadcast business for over twenty-five years. He is a creative communications professional with experience producing, directing and managing network and local video productions and operations. Richard has hands-on experience in studio, field unit and postproduction direction and has served as executive producer on various distinguished programs.
Through the years, Richard has managed to win eight national and local Emmy's along with other esteemed recognitions and awards. At NBC (National Broadcasting Company) Network, he has worked on some of their most renowned sports productions including Super Bowls and World Series'. At WNET/13 in New York, the main production house for Public Broadcasting, he worked on some of their most prestigious programming including the multiple award-winning series "Bill Moyers' Journal".
Richard has been brought on board by corporations and towns to manage and renovate new and existing television stations. He has served as General Manager in both Vail and Aspen, Colorado. He has also worked internationally as both a producer and consultant. On the corporate level he managed The Worldwide Video Network for Johnson & Johnson at their corporate headquarters in New Jersey.
Richard is and has been for many years a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and has participated as a judge for the Emmy Awards. When time permits, he is also a film documentary producer/director. He has written a novel "Can Richard Come Out and Play?" that he has adapted to a screenplay. The screenplay has already won "The Award of Excellence" at the Canada International Film Festival and took the top prize "Best Script" at the Los Angeles Movie Awards this past June. It was also a finalist at the Beverly Hills Film Festival as well as the Las Vegas International Film Festival. Richard will be producing a feature film "Liberation Saturday" based on a documentary he made several years ago. Richard is a graduate of the University of Miami, Florida and has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications.
