SAN JOSE, CA, November 20, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- LiberCanvas, an all-in-one authoring and collaboration app from LiberCloud (the first and only content management and collaboration platform for teachers and students), was created to empower teachers to create and share customized interactive teaching materials. More changes have recently been rolled out to improve its capabilities.
One of the most compelling enhancements is for sharing and peer-to-peer collaboration:
The LiberCanvas app uses peer-to-peer features that allow teachers and students in the same local network to share their canvas files. For example, a teacher may send a canvas file for students to work on as an exercise -- they then modify and send back. The teacher can monitor the actual progress of each student in real-time and provide immediate feedback. Or, as another example, teachers can share each student's assignment with the rest of the class. These peer-to-peer features work without an Internet connection, which has two obvious benefits in a classroom context:
1. It makes interactions fast. No need to rely on an Internet connection with sufficient bandwidth.
2. It reduces those awkward moments of "sending page, please wait...", resulting in a more productive and focused class.
In addition, the app's free-form canvas and its ability to capture web pages, import documents, and annotate them transforms a tablet into a mobile whiteboard when connected wirelessly to a projector. This gives teachers the opportunity to use the classroom space more effectively, even during a demonstration or lecture, which encourages more dialog and helps provide 1:1 assistance.
Another recent enhancement is the improved ability to leverage cloud drives such as Google Drive, which means that teachers can now store and share LiberCanvas-generated content with any user, not just LiberCloud users.
As a result of the many updates to LiberCanvas' capabilities in 2014, LiberCloud also announces that they will be speaking at the Teaching & Learning with iPad conference in Raleigh, NC on November 22nd. Their session will show how LiberCanvas can help teachers become more effective in the classroom as well as to make their teaching material more interactive and engaging.
