He became interested in the legal profession when he was a high school teacher and was called to jury duty twice in a two-year period, serving on two criminal juries. He was so intrigued by the process that when he finished his service on the second jury, he resigned from teaching, took the LSAT, and headed off to law school at age 30.

Upon completing law school, he had made up his mind that he would become a trial attorney. He signed up to be on the indigent de fender list and began trying cases immediately after graduation. At one point, he asked the Public Defender's Office to give them the most difficult cases they had in the office. He tried aggravated rapes, murders, and other hard and unpopular cases for several years. It made him become a fighter and a very aggressive trial attorney.

Mr. Vamvoras is professionally affiliated with the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and National Trial Lawyers Association. Outside of the demands of his busy legal career, he is an avid fisherman and golfer. He is a devoted to his family, and enjoys being a grandfather to his granddaughter Jayden.
