Meet Tyler Seguin

Seguin's sleeve tattoos are a visual memoir. Seguin shares in a recent interview "It reminds me every day of the things that are important to me. It's a part of me. I haven't really been home since I was 15, so it's nice to carry this with me every day." Seguin's tattoos illustrate a foundation built on family. On his left arm, Seguin has the birth years of his parents and two sisters, an angel, and a family tree. In the middle is a heart, which was the impetus for the body art - Seguin explains in a recent article "My dad said I always wear my heart on my sleeve, so that sort of started the whole process."

Background

Seguin was born into a hockey family January 31, 1992 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The Seguin family has played hockey for generations and his sisters are currently playing. In addition to being skilled at hockey Seguin also had success on the Lacrosse field. His talent in the rink led to his hockey career. His fearless nature, skill, speed, accuracy, and agility on the ice captured attention propelling him forward thru youth hockey. His accomplishments are outstanding and paid off when in 2010 he was the No 2 draft pick for the NHL Boston Bruins. Following joining the Boston Bruins he skated his way to the 2011 Stanley Cup Championship, Seventh Player Award, NHL All Stars Game, and the Spengler Cup (Team Canada) (see achievements). During the NHL lockout he played for EHL Biel in the Swiss National Hockey League. 2013 brought an exciting move to the NHL Dallas Stars. The center's first season on the team he bought his legendary speed and dynamic offensive capabilities to help lead the Stars to the playoffs. In addition Seguin was the 4th highest scorer in the NHL 2013-14 Season. He was awarded the first Mike Modano Award for most points scored for the 2013-14 season. Seguin was also recently named one of the 25 under 25 to watch by the NHL.
