SARASOTA, FL, December 04, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ron and Bozena Suponcic of RE/MAX Alliance Group recently shared their insights on the real estate market in a question-and-answer interview in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
In an interview with reporter Josh Salman that appeared in the newspaper's Business Weekly section on November 24, Ron discussed the current state of the real estate market, his projections for the future, the role of baby boomers, and the best performing properties.
"We have not seen a slowdown in summer or fall, and we believe that our market is becoming less seasonal," Ron said in the article. "I think we will continue to see price increases into 2015 and most likely for the next 10 years. I think the increases will slow to around 5 percent to 10 percent annually for our full market, which is slower than we have seen in the last three years, but this is still very strong compared to the rest of the country. Waterfront properties will perform even better."
Driving the market, according to Ron, are the baby boomers. "The majority of our customers are baby boomers, including a significant number of foreign boomers, because of our own foreign marketing, contacts and experience," Ron said.
"Our customers are people who have been successful in life as business owners, investors, professionals and managers, coming from both the private and public sectors. They are either close to retirement or recently retired and have the funds to purchase the home or condo that they want. Eighty percent of our transactions are cash, so cash really dominates, but we are seeing a slight increase in financed deals."
When asked if there was a particular neighborhood or area of town that outperforms the others, Ron answered, "Waterfront is hot, new construction is hot and newer, well-maintained, well-designed properties on good lots are hot. When properties like this come on the market, they sell. This is consistent throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties."
