Anne S. Devi Wold, MD, Honored for her Contributions to Women's Health

    CRANSTON, RI, December 10, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anne S. Devi Wold, Ob/Gyn of the Providence Fertility Institute, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in women's health.

Dr. Devi Wold has 17 years of professional experience, with eight years exclusively dedicated to patients with fertility related problems. As an expert in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, she is primarily responsible for offering the insight and expertise of a seasoned doctor, combined with the compassion and understanding of a patient. Dr. Devi Wold relocated to Rhode Island in 2006 and she has since developed a successful private practice as a reproductive endocrinologist both in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She has held faculty appointments at Yale and Brown University.

Dr. Devi Wold understands firsthand the economic and emotional stress of couples experiencing problems conceiving a healthy baby. She goes the extra mile to not only help each patient achieve success, but to make the journey itself easier. She has a dedicated staff that shares her goals of providing high quality care in a comfortable and compassionate environment. She is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and Telugu. Additionally, she has published many peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on reproductive genetics, recurrent pregnancy loss, infertility and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis. She is an avid lecturer and highly respected researcher.

Looking back, Dr. Devi Wold became involved in her profession because she was raised in Brazil in the heart of the Amazon. She was fascinated by science and was a geneticist at first, but always had an interest in and was involved with women's care.

Dr. Devi Wold completed fellowships in reproductive endocrinology, infertility and genetics through Yale University School of Medicine from 2003-2006, having also completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Connecticut Health Center from 1993-1997. She earned her MD from Universidade Federal de Goias in Brazil in 1987. In addition to her degree, she is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as clinical genetics, reproductive endocrinology and infertility. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliation with the American Board of Medical Genetics, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the New England Fertility Institute. In recognition of her talent and dedication to the field, she was voted as one of the top 10 gynecologists in her area by Vitals in 2014. She has also been presented with a Compassionate Doctor Recognition from 2011-2013 and a Patients Choice Award through Vitals. She has received several research and teaching awards through the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Yale University and Brown University. In years to come, she will work with an academic institution, do more research and teaching, become affiliated with a state-of-the-art laboratory with high fertility rates, and continue to offer personalized care with a high success rate.
