Dr. DiFrancesco brings 20 years of experience to her role at Eileen DiFrancesco, MD. As an expert in psychopharmacology and psychiatry, she regularly diagnoses and treats complex diagnostic issues utilizing a combination of medication and therapy. Upon completing residency training at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, Dr. DiFrancesco was appointed medical director of the Learning Laboratory, a private facility in Stamford Ct. There, she specialized in diagnosing and treating attention deficit disorder and teen addiction, using a form of Quantitative EEG, also known as brain mapping.
Dr. DiFrancesco offers consultative services, through which she provides a complete analysis of patients' brain health to help minimize the risk of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, dementia and other degenerative diseases of the mind. Dr. DiFrancesco was in the first class of psychiatrists required to complete certification every 10 years in order to keep up with the growing body of clinical neuroscience advances. She was recertified in 2007. She became involved in her profession because her brother had a neurological injury and she became very interested at a very young age. Dr. DiFrancesco received an MD in psychiatry and neurology from Temple University School of Medicine in 1989 and a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with honors. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliation with the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association. In 2014, she was named as a Top 10 Doctor by State through Vitals, having received a Patients Choice Award in 2012.
